Why is the last page of the Mahabharata prohibited from being read?

It is said that reading Mahabharat completely leads to fights in the family. I can't say how ture this belief is, but yes, many people believe so.

Hence, according to me, if the last page is not read, it can be considered that you haven't read the epic fully and thus avoid rivalry in the family.
